South County Senior Center
The South County Senior Center is located at 67 North Main Street in South Deerfield, Massachusetts. The senior center is an enterprise of the Frontier Councils on Aging Consortium which was established by agreement between the Towns of Deerfield, Sunderland and Whately, Massachusetts.
Initially, the South County Senior Center was operated by volunteers at a different location every weekday. In the early 1970's, the Consortium partnered with the Franklin County Home Care Corporation to renovate the first floor of the former Conway Street Elementary School building and install a professional kitchen in order to provide a permanent home for the operations of the South County Senior Center.
The mission of the South County Senior Center is to identify and meet the nutritional, social, intellectual, health and safety needs of elders of Deerfield, Sunderland and Whately through the presentation of activities and services in a safe and comfortable environment.
