Mission

The mission of the Town Clerk’s Office is to uphold the integrity of the Town’s democratic process, to maintain and preserve public records, and to act in the best interest of the community by providing efficient and quality service.

This Office strives to work cooperatively and in coordination with all Town Departments to maintain and achieve established goals of the Town. The Town Clerk’s responsibilities cover a broad spectrum of Town business, as set forth by the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and Deerfield's own Bylaws. The Clerk acts as the Town's chief election official, recording officer, registrar of vital statistics, and public records officer. The Town Clerk's office responds to inquiries from the public and serves as a central information point for the Town.
